Our Work
A look at the kinds of scenes, setups and edit sessions that make up a normal week for newflare, from roadside breaking stories to festival stages and the cutting room.
Cameras, edit suites and live sites
These scenes show the settings we work in most: outdoor locations with developing stories, multi-camera event sites, and the edit suite where footage becomes a bulletin package. Each one reflects a step in how we deliver.

Handheld camera at a developing story
Shooting on foot at a fast-moving scene calls for steady framing and quick decisions about where to stand. We keep a clear line to the reporter so footage matches the angle agreed.

Tripod set-up for a to-camera piece
For a reporter's piece to camera we choose the background, check wind noise and set a lavalier microphone. A short test recording on location avoids bad audio reaching the edit.

Multi-camera coverage on a festival stage
At concerts and festivals we place cameras to cover the stage, the crowd and the wider setting. A producer keeps the shots labelled so the edit can start while the event is still running.

Timeline editing of news footage
In the edit suite, rough footage is trimmed against the clock for the bulletin slot. Priya checks pacing and sound before captions and graphics are added on top.

Reviewing a story board with editors
During workflow reviews, Callum sits with producers and editors and traces a story from pitch to transmission. Notes on a wall board show where hand-offs slow things down.

Camera training for a reporting team
Training sessions are short and practical. Reporters practise framing, focus and audio on moving subjects, then watch their own footage back with Tom to see what worked.
