Before you write

What helps us give you a useful first reply

A short message is enough to start. Say who you are, which programme or bulletin the work is for, and what you need: a field shoot, an edit, a training session, a coverage plan or a review of how stories move through your newsroom.

If the work is a shoot or an edit, tell us the date and the place, and when the material must be with you. Give us the delivery format your playout system expects, and say whether captions, graphics or a particular running time are required. These details decide who we send and how we plan the day.

For training or workflow consulting, a few lines on the size of your team and the point where stories slow down are enough. We may ask for a sample rundown or a description of your pitch to transmission steps, but only what we need to understand the problem.

Once we have your message, we reply in writing with questions or a proposed approach. Where the work is to be priced, a written quotation or confirmation follows, and an invoice is issued after that. Payment is by bank transfer, as set out on the prices page.

If a story is developing now, ring us rather than writing. A short call lets us tell you quickly whether we can cover it and what we would need from your desk. Please keep personal data in your message to what the job requires.
