The coming months reward preparation more than heroics. Film the wide pictures while the light holds, protect the equipment from the wet, begin editing before the shoot ends and keep the crew safe and rested. A breaking news package in autumn is the same craft as in summer, simply done with less daylight, and a newsroom that plans for that gets cleaner pictures and calmer evenings.
